Woman: Man's Eternal Source of Light

In Honor of all the women in my life, without whom, I would cease to exist, Who make my life worth living, who inspire me even to breathe. It is for them that I stand and I fight, that I live and I shall same day die!

This is dedicated to all Mothers, and Wives, and Sisters, and daughters, and Friends, and Girlfriends... Who quietly burn and sacrifice all they have for us... take all of our pain away and yet inspire us... Ignite in us a fire that gives us light... That gives us steam to keep pedaling ahead.

Woman: Man's Eternal Source of Light
By: Aishwarya Singh

There are a thousand lights glowing  in the sky,
I try to seek them and try to fly,
Up there, somewhere, I realise
Down there, a few little pretty candles rise,
As all the light dies down,
And I am alone in the mob, a la a clown,
When all around me seems torn up in rife,
Those lowly candles make my day, save my life;

I might be a bit late,
But then I do make through the gate,
All that I ever craved,  I always sought,
Had always been there with me through the flood and the draught,
Not so trendy... not so hip,
stood for me as I had nothing in my grip,
Not so jazzy, but ever so soothing,
Bringing me peace, even as I go drooling.

Down here, my world lay watching,
Down here my answeres lay waiting,
Down here I existed as a whole,
Down here, She waited, and held my soul.
As I ran amoke trying way out of strife,
Here she lay for me, burning her own life.
Ignored, Defied, She fought... clamoured
Only for my peace, Only for my Life.

She is my soul... my Life.
The Lady of My Life.

PS: The sketch is by my favorite artist Aishwarya Singh.
Aishwarya made certain improvisations to the original, which I have posted above. I loved both the sketches, and hence did not want to make a choice between them. But, certainly they are a masterpiece.
